Both apps change the edge of your Windows screen, and both are inexpensive paid apps. They're after different things, though: MyDockFinder recreates the Mac, while lumabar adds a dock of live widgets to Windows.
MyDockFinder in short
MyDockFinder, sold on Steam, replaces the Windows taskbar with a macOS-style dock (MyDock) - app launching, the magnifying icons, minimize animations - and adds a Finder-style top bar (MyFinder) with system controls: shut down and restart, CPU, memory, disk and network monitors, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, audio output and media controls. It also has a Launchpad, blur effects and themes, and runs on Windows 10 (1809 or later) and Windows 11.
lumabar in short
lumabar is one dock for the top or bottom of the screen that holds your apps and 80+ live widgets: clocks, weather, calendar, todos, notes, system stats and media, plus integrations such as Claude and ChatGPT usage limits, Stripe and Polar revenue, GitHub, Gmail and stocks. It comes in five styles, two of them refracting glass, and three sizes.

Day to day
MyDockFinder is at its best when you want the whole Mac feel: icons that magnify under the pointer, windows that minimize into the dock with an animation, and a Finder-style bar across the top. It changes how Windows looks.
lumabar changes less and shows more. The taskbar's job - Start, pinned and open apps - moves into one dock, and the rest of that dock fills with live information. Windows itself keeps looking like Windows.
Setup, price and updates
Both work out of the box. MyDockFinder has a large settings panel for the look and behaviour of its dock and bar; lumabar keeps its settings to a short list - style, size, clock format, the Windows taskbar and launch at startup. MyDockFinder updates through Steam. lumabar updates itself with one click, every update is free, and it comes with a 14-day money-back guarantee.
Choose MyDockFinder if…
- You want Windows to look and feel like macOS - the magnifying dock, the Finder bar, the Launchpad.
- Launching apps from a dock is the main thing you're after.
Choose lumabar if…
- You want information at a glance more than a Mac look: the weather, your next event, CPU and battery, what's playing.
- You use AI tools and want your Claude or ChatGPT limits in view.
- You sell software and want your Stripe or Polar revenue on the taskbar.
- You'd rather set widgets up by clicking than configure them.
Can you use them together?
Yes - keep MyDockFinder's dock for launching apps and use lumabar as a widget bar. Remove the Apps widget from lumabar so the two don't show the same icons, and drag lumabar to the top of the screen. Both apps manage the Windows taskbar, so check that it behaves the way you want with both running.
